Who We Are

Welcome to Resonant Lab! I’m Cristina Russo, Speech Pathologist (MSPA, CPSP), singing teacher and opera singer.

Resonant Lab was born when I nearly gave up on my voice. Tired of the unpredictability of my voice and frustrated at the lack of answers my teachers could provide, I decided to hit the books and learn the science. I’ve now emerged as a fully-qualified Speech Pathologist (MSPA, CPSP), armed with the knowledge of the science of all things voice.

Resonant Lab is a safe space for you to find the voice that best represents your authentic self.

I don’t want you to ever feel the frustration of not knowing how to fix it. I’ve been there. It sucked.

My mission: for you to feel the rush of singing to an audience, connecting with people and feeling confident in who you are.

Resonant Lab offers:

  • Singing Lessons

  • Voice Therapy (coming soon)

  • English Pronunciation/Accent Modification Training (coming soon)

  • Gender Affirming Voice Training (coming soon)

About Cristina

I was lucky to study bel canto technique with some true legends of opera and have treaded the boards with Opera Australia, State Opera of South Australia, Victorian Opera and Glyndebourne Opera (to name a few). I’ve also won awards for my vocals on film and TV (Netflix: Babylon Berlin, Messiah). You can read my full bio and check out my music if you’re curious.

Here’s a list of my qualifications if you’re into that sort of thing:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Music (Honours)

  • Master of Music (Opera Performance)

  • Master of Speech Pathology (Voice)

  • Graduate Diploma in Adult Education

I’m also a certified practising speech pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia, which means that in order to stay accredited, I need to continue to do professional development to ensure that I am up to date with the latest evidence on all things voice.
